You do not have to be good at this
That is worth saying before anything else, because the picture of an old feast day kept properly can stop a person before they start. Nobody here is grading the bread.
What actually arrives:
- One keeping guide per old day, ten days ahead, with time to shop and plan an evening
- A dish with its history told alongside it, printable on a card that fits a kitchen drawer
- Garden and herb notes that follow the moon rather than a weekday
- One small thing to do with your hands, sized for a weeknight and not a holiday
Keep one day this year and you will have done more than most. Keep four and the year starts to have a shape you can feel. The women who baked the struan by firelight were not performing, they were feeding people, and the standard has not changed.
Come set a place.
